The United Nations
Environment Programme (UNEP) keeps the records of its previous Governance
Council Sessions (GCSS) at this location: http://www.unep.org/gc/gc27/
However,
this page only contains links to the resources of nine (9) Governance Council
Sessions (GCSS), after that there is a link named ‘>> Other sessions’. We
have, in the past, on several occasions tried to access these ‘Other Sessions’
resources, but the response from the page is always “404 Error: Page Not Found!” Screenshot of the search result is available here.
On
12.07.2015 when I experienced this problem, I wrote the following email to the UNEP
designated person for such purposes, the Director of Communications and Public
Information at the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) at this email: nick.nuttall@unep.org ---
“Dear Sir
Greetings of the festive season from Dhaka,
Bangladesh! Hope this finds you in Great Spirit.
I write to inform you of the difficulties that
I am facing for the last few weeks accessing the documents and records of the
past sessions of the UNEP Governing Council. Whenever I try to access the
sessions that are not listed at this page: http://www.unep.org/gc/gc27/, the
website responds in saying that those are not available:
http://www.unep.org/sgb/Previoussession.asp, with the following message: “404
Error: Page Not Found!”
This is seriously hampering my research and I
humbly request you to take necessary steps to ensure that we are able to access
all the documents and records that UNEP has put on the public domain.
My regards.
Abu Raihan Muhammed Khalid”
I received no reply ever, not even an
acknowledgement. Now eleven months later, I am experiencing the same problem.
Is this problem there forever? And what can be done to get their attention to
this matter? Can you help?
