Interested lawyers/law students are invited to volunteer in a Environmental Law Study
We are doing a study on the Ecologically Critical Area (ECA) Saint Martin's Island, Cox's Bazar to understand how the current governance regime for the ECA are functioning on the ground there.
We have already conducted field investigations in the ECA in the second week of January 2017. We have interviewed several residents and visited the island extensively.
It became apparent during the field investigation that the Saint Martin's Island is on the verge of a major ecological catastrophe. The water, health and sanitation, biodiversity and poverty and discrimination are some of the major problems that is accelerating this catastrophe.
Our study shall focus on the governance regime of the island, i.e. the policy and the laws, and evaluate the effectiveness of it on the ground.
We are seeking help from volunteers for the Study.
If you are a lawyer or a senior law student, please apply within 12th February 2017 with your CV to raihan.khalid@yahoo.com
Adequate guidance throughout the study will be provided.
There is no fund allocation for the study. Contributions from successful volunteers will be acknowledged.
